Weltwärts – so nennt sich das Programm des Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung (BMZ), das den sogenannten Entwicklungspolitischen Freiwilligendienst fördert. Junge Leute zwischen 18 und 28 können sich bei einer der vielen Entsendeorganisationen, die von Weltwärts anerkannt sind, für ein Jahr im Ausland bewerben und haben die Chance auf einen Freiwilligendienst ohne hohe Eigenkosten.
Weltwärts unterstützt diese Entsendeorganisationen finanziell, so dass 75% der Kosten des Auslandsjahres eines Freiwilligen bereits gedeckt sind. Die Aufgabe des Freiwilligen ist es nun, sich einen sogenannten Förderkreis aufzubauen, der mittels Spenden einen Teil der restlichen 25% abdeckt (siehe auch Spendenaufruf/Donations)

Weltwärts – Going abroad- is a program of the German Ministry for economical Development and Cooperation which offers a year of voluntary service for young people between 18 and 28. You can apply to one of many organisations, which are acknowledged by Weltwärts, for a year abroad and have a chance on a voluntary service without costs for yourself.
Weltwärts supports those organisations financially which means that it covers 75% of the whole volunteer year. Now the volunteer has to collect donations to come up with a part of the other 25% but there are no costs for the volunteer himself (also view Spendenaufruf/Donations).
